My Stand-In Groom Is A Secret Tycoon (Audrey)

Chapter 290

Leo looked at Audrey excitedly, his expression even more astonished than before.

Audrey just smiled calmly, maintaining her composure the whole time.

Watching from the side, Leo found her even more exceptional.

Feeling left out, Simon cleared his throat and spoke up, a tinge of discontent in his voice, "Mr. Harrington, she just solved a few problems. Why do you call her a genius..."

Leo, who had long been annoyed with Simon, directly retorted, "What do you know? These problems weren't meant for students. I printed them myself for research and they've been troubling me for days.

"I have no idea how to solve these problems easily, and she finished them in just twenty minutes.

"If you think she's not a genius, why don't you solve the same problems in twenty minutes and show me?"

Upon hearing this, Simon swallowed his saliva nervously and didn't dare to respond.

Seeing Simon finally quiet down, Leo didn't bother with him anymore.

He looked eagerly at Audrey and said excitedly, "Miss, you're the most talented physics genius I've ever met. Are you interested in joining my mentor's lab?"

As soon as he said this, everyone started looking at Audrey differently.

Simon's eyes widened in shock.

Although Leo was just the vice principal of their school, his mentor was a nationally renowned physicist, a real powerhouse in the field.

His accomplishments in physics were heights no one else could ever reach in their lifetime.

Getting into his lab was the lifelong dream of every physics student.

Under the envious and jealous eyes of everyone, Audrey declined without a second thought, "Thank you for your kind offer, Mr. Harrington, but I'm not really interested in research, and I don't want to waste the lab's resources." Simon was filled with envy, thinking to himself, 'What a great opportunity! She actually turned it down?'

Leo was clearly a bit regretful and disappointed, but he remained persistent. "Audrey, I sincerely think that not joining the lab would be a waste of your talent."

Audrey refused again, "Sorry, I'm really busy with work and honestly don't have time for anything else."

Everyone was rendered speechless.

Seeing that Audrey was determined, Leo couldn't insist any longer and could only feel regret for the academic world losing such a talent.

But considering Audrey's abilities, he still felt unwilling to give up. He handed her a business card and said humbly, "If you ever change your mind, feel free to reach out to me anytime."

Audrey was aware of Leo's significant expertise in physics.

He was a straightforward guy, with a true passion for recognizing talent.

So after Leo took the initiative to leave his contact information, she didn't refuse him anymore but instead said, "Mr. Harrington, although I won't pursue academic research in the future, Miles might be interested."

Leo's eyes lit up immediately at the words.

'Since Audrey is so smart, her brother, Miles, probably isn't much worse, right?' he thought.

Hearing Audrey's words, Simon couldn't help but say, "Mr. Harrington, you might want to think twice!"

Leo hesitantly looked over.

Simon said disdainfully, "The

physics lab isn't a place for just

anyone. If Miles is at the bottom of his class, no matter how hard he tries, it's unlikely he'll suddenly become a top scholar. Don't you think so?"

Upon hearing this, the excited Leo sobered up instantly.

That made sense. He had forgotten that just because Audrey had the capability to enter the lab, it didn't automatically qualify Miles either. Miles was just a slacker.

Even if he used to be smart, he had neglected his studies for the past two years. Getting back on track might not be so easy.

Thinking of this, Leo sighed with regret, 'Who would have thought such a genius would have a brother who's so unmotivated?'

Miles didn't want to embarrass Audrey, so he retorted, "Mr. Taylor, just because I once came last doesn't mean I always will. Don't underestimate me."noveldrama

Simon had just been embarrassed by Audrey, so he was already holding a grudge. Being contradicted by Miles added insult to injury.

With a stern expression, he huffed and reprimanded, "If you're not performing well, you can't blame others for underestimating you." Miles stubbornly retorted, "Who says I'm not performing well?"

Simon sneered with disdain and

deliberately said, "If you're so confident, I won't say much. As tong as you make it into the top ten for this month's exam, I'll apologize for underestimating you. Deal?"

"Sure, it's a deal!" Miles agreed almost without hesitation.

He couldn't back down, or he'd be letting down Audrey, who did her best to protect his reputation.

Simon didn't expect Miles to actually have the courage to agree, so he laughed mockingly, "Fine, I'll wait to see your improvement."

He didn't believe that Miles could completely transform in just a month.

Even though their school wasn't ranked very high in the city, it was still a well-known one with plenty of high-achieving students.

Miles aimed to make up for two months of work in just one month, which was nearly impossible. Unless, of course, he was a genius.

Audrey wasn't fooled by Simon at all. She coldly replied, "No need to make it so complicated. Mr. Taylor, your bet with me hasn't been fulfilled yet..."
