Chapter 379 He Owes You Nothing

The camera shifted to Ingram, who stood to the side. His words and tone mirrored Paxton's as they condemned Freya's malicious actions. They vowed to hold her accountable for the damages and responsibilities, severing all ties with the Whites. As for her accomplice, Todd, he was immediately fired, with no chance of ever being hired by any other major hospitals again.
For a moment, the Whites were caught in the fiery whirlpool of public scandal.
The company stock prices were sure to plummet by tomorrow.
Charmaine watched silently, her emotions unaffected.
Suddenly, a voice message popped up on her phone from Basil. She glanced toward the living room and quietly answered.
Basil spoke leisurely, "Were you wronged today, girly?"
Charmaine's heart softened. She knew Basil was referring to the situation with the Whites, but for some reason, her mind drifted to Emyr.
A weight pressed down on her chest, making her feel uneasy.
She responded with a smile, "No, it's all taken care of."noveldrama
"Hmph, your way of handling things... always swallowing it all. When will you come to me and act cute? Let me help you get your revenge," Basil complained.
Charmaine couldn't help but chuckle at Basil's childlike remarks.
After thinking for a moment, she replied playfully, "Well, you'd have to give me a chance for that. Right now, Mr. Zimmer and Dr. Pearce are both making it clear they want to go after Freya. That must be some pressure from your side, right?"
Charmaine didn't know much about the Whites, but she had a vague understanding of their influence.
The Whites had built their empire in the medical field, controlling more than 90% of the market share in Eragos. Nearly every hospital in the region had a steady partnership with them.
As for this filming project, it had been assigned by Havenwood Hospital, and the Whites taking the title sponsorship showed their significant connections in the city.
Ingram and Paxton had the nerve to cancel the partnership because they had a strong backing. Otherwise, they would never have acted so rashly.
Basil let out a smug grunt. "Do you think I'll just stand by and let my student get bullied? If s enough to harm others, she'd better be ready to face the consequences."

Charmaine whispered, "It's her own jealousy clouding her judgment. She can't blame anyone else for that. It's a shame for innocent Mrs. White to suffer.”
"Haha, she brought this upon herself. Serve her well!" Basil responded without an ounce of sympathy.
"I've talked to the Whites. The couple is reasonable, but they can't stop the old lady from spoiling Freya. All the arrogance and recklessness Freya shows today? That's all thanks to that old lady. Lucky it's Freya that

Charmaine recalled the calm and rational attitude of Freya's parents today. They were much more composed, unlike Freya, who was completely out of control.
"You don't need to worry about it. I'll step in. If they dare come after me, I'll make sure they learn a lesson they won't forget!"
Basil's words carried a serious threat. Charmaine stifled a laugh. “Alright, alright. Whatever makes you happy."
The old man corrected her sharply, "I'm doing this to vent out for you!"
Charmaine playfully agreed, "Yes, of course."
After she coaxed Basil for a while, Charmaine hung up the phone, hesitating whether to go upstairs.
Just then, loud voices echoed from outside.
"Emyr! Get out of my way! I need to see Emyr!
"Emyr, save me! You're the only one who can help me now."
Alfred stood in front of the door, blocking the way. "Ms. White, Mr. Emyr has gone
to bed. Please come back tomorrow."
Freya's voice, shrill with fury, came through, "Get out of my way! Do you all think I'm finished because of the news? You all think you can step on me?"
She shouted angrily, "If it weren't for me, Emyr's injuries would have been even worse. Now that Charmaine's here, you've all forgotten everything I did for your boss. And now you dare treat me so awfully
Alfred remained calm, his voice steady as he replied, “Ms. White, I'm sure you've forgotten, but since you became the chief physician for Mr. Emyr, he had paid you a commission higher than other top experts. He's also made several concessions in the business dealings with your family. The last time Master Field treated Mr. Emyr, he had paid you 100 million as payment.
"You may claim that you treated Mr. Emyr, but using that to guilt-trip him? He owes you nothing."
