Rex's eyebrows shot up in surprise. Leaning in with growing curiosity, he said, "That's impressive! You've studied two totally unrelated subjects. Is studying abroad really that relaxed and carefree? If I had known carlier, I would have gone too. But my mom insisted I stay in Valasia, and in the end, I had to make a donation to the school just to get my degree?
"Um... haha."
Renata was at a loss for words, so she could only offer a polite smile.
Not noticing or perhaps ignoring her awkwardness, Rex kept going. "Ms. Xander, how old are you? A master's degree takes a few years to finish, right? I know it's a bit shorter if you study overseas, but judging from the fine lines on your face, you must be around 28?"
Without waiting for a response, he kept rambling, "Twenty-eight, huh? That's older than me. I don't really like women who are older. I already look pretty young, and women tend to age faster. After marriage and kids, it'll be even more obvious. Wouldn't that make me look like some young man living off a sugar mommy?"
His eyes scanned her face before he continued, "But I guess, looking at your bone structure, you won't age too quickly. With some beauty treatments and injections, you should be able to maintain your looks for a while. Not bad, nothing too concerning."
After thoroughly evaluating her appearance, he gave his final verdict.
Renata remained silent
Her forced smile was beginning to falter. She was struggling to keep up the polite act.
Rex, however, was having a great time. He's already scheming how to keep stepping on Renata's landmines.
Suddenly, his eyes brightened. "Oh, hey! Celeste!"
Celeste had just stepped out of a private dining room when she heard her name. Turning her head, she spotted Rex staring at her with excitement, almost like a dog spotting a juicy bone. For a moment, she was in a daze.
She walked over, throwing a puzzled glance at Rex and the clearly irritated
woman across from him. Just as she was about to say something, Rex beat her to
it, "Weren't you just downstairs? What are you doing up
here?"
Renata was confused.
And so was Celeste.
What is wrong with this clueless id*ot? Sure, I have thick skin, but isn't there a limit to being shameless?
"Enough!"
Finally, Renata couldn't take it anymore. She shot up from her seat, unwilling to endure an
er second.
Mustering the last bit of politeness she had left, she said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Chapman, but I don't think that

Celeste finally snapped out of her daze, a grin spreading across her face. "Wait, were you actually on a blind date?"
If he managed to hit it off with someone else, wouldn't that mean he'd be too preoccupied to focus on Charmaine?
The thought made her sigh in disappointment. Why did the blind date have to fail?
Finally, the person was sent away!
Meanwhile, Rex was feeling quite pleased with himself. He waved over the waiter,
and in flawlessly fluent Tavanish, ordered two signature dishes.
The waiter was caught off guard, glancing at the order in confusion before heading off.
Noticing the regret flashing across Celeste's face, Rex narrowed his eyes. "Hold on, don't tell me you actually wanted me to connect with her?"
"Of course... not," she replied, a little too quickly.
Celeste took the seat Renata had just vacated. "Didn't you just leave? Why are you back for blind dates again?"
"I can't go against my mom's wishes," Rex responded.
"Oh, I see."
Rex pulled out his phone and quickly dialed a number to update the situation. "Ms. Renata is graceful and intelligent, but sadly, she wasn't interested in your son."
Raelyn was clearly unhappy. "It's over? That was fast! Are you messing around on purpose, you troublemaker?"
Rex sighed, feeling disheartened. "You've got it wrong. She's incredibly well-read, and my modest skills weren't enough to impress her. Honestly, I'm lucky she stayed as long as she did out of courtesy."
He figured Raelyn wouldn't drop the issue, so he put on a helpless act. "It's not that I'm unwilling, it's just not a good match. Maybe next time will be better? Would you mind choosing another? But please, give me a little more time to prepare properly."
He even pushed for another blind date himself.
Raelyn was about to scold him, but when she heard him actively asking for another blind date, her anger eased.
After all, the date had been too rushed. It's natural not to click with someone right away.
"All right, I'll be more selective this time. I'll inform you once everything is set," Raelyn replied.
"Got it. Thanks for being considerate. I'll do my best next time."
Rex ended the call with appreciation.
Across from him, Celeste absentmindedly munched on fries as she observed his
swift shift in demeanor. Even she couldn't help but be impressed.
