Rex glanced at Emyr again but didn't press the issue further.
Before anyone realized it, the once noisy auditorium had gradually fallen silent.

The elderly principal, wearing reading glasses, finished delivering his prepared speech. Then, under the cager gazes of the students, he officially announced the start of this year's internship selection.
"Today, we are honored to welcome several distinguished guests from afar, who, like us, care deeply about Eragos-its talent development and future growth.
"On behalf of Eragos University, I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our esteemed guests for their generous support of our talent cultivation programs."
The principal's strong, clear voice echoed throughout the auditorium.
Stepping back slightly, he bowed deeply toward the distinguished guests seated in the front row.
The students rose to their feet, applauding enthusiastically.
The principal then stood up, gave a slight wave, and announced, "This year's selection process will differ slightly. Our esteemed guests who have traveled so far to be with us will have priority selection. If any of them see a student they wish to recruit, that student may join their company directly, without drawing lots."
As soon as the principal finished speaking, the auditorium erupted into excitement once again.
"Wow! These big shots can choose whoever they want. That's like an automatic job offer! They'll be in high demand after they graduate!"
"Not necessarily. Even if they get chosen now, if their performance during the internship isn't up to par, they could still get kicked out."
"I'm just wondering, won't it be super awkward for the ones who aren't chosen?"
"So what? It's still better than not having a shot at all!"
"I'm so curious. Who's the first in our department?!"
The principal nodded at the host, who grinned and took over the stage. "All right, let's have the assistant bring up the drawing box, and with a round of applause, let's welcome the top ten students from each department to come up on stage!"
The applause was deafening as students began standing up from all corners of the auditorium, making their way to the stage to line up.
The people in the front row were already holding tablets with the students' information displayed. The general manager representing the Whites raised a hand, signaled, and wrote down a name on a piece of paper, which he handed to the assistant.
The assistant read out the name, and a short boy on stage jumped up with excitement, running off the stage to give the general manager a big bear hug. "Thank you, Sir!"

principal's random selection process, where they would be assigned to different internship companies.
It was all up to luck, and with that, some were happy while others were left anxious.
Leah kept her eyes fixed on the stage, not blinking for a second.
Noticing her tension, Olympia smiled and took her hand.
"Feeling nervous?"
Leah blinked and nodded slightly. "Mom, do you think someone will choose me?"
After the principal announced that some students could directly join the company without drawing lots, Leah started to get restless.
She wanted that honor!
Hearing her daughter's anxious words, Olympia felt sorry and concerned.
"Of course, my amazing daughter is second in the whole grade! Someone will definitely want to choose you."
She gave Leah's nose a gentle tap. "And with Jonah, Mrs. Alessa, and a few other families involved, I'm sure they'll be fighting over you."
Leah blushed, her eyes lighting up with excitement.
Still, she shrugged and said, "Honestly, it doesn't matter that much. The internship
is about gaining experience, so I'll be fine wherever I go."noveldrama
Olympia felt a sense of pride hearing her think this way.
"Now, let's invite the second-place students from each department to come up on stage."
Leah gently released Olympia's hand and gracefully made her way to the stage.
As she stood there, aware of all the eyes on her, Leah straightened up; her smile radiant and full of confidence.
Her eyes scanned the crowd below, landing on Charmaine's expressionless face. With a playful glint in her eyes, she raised an eyebrow in a slightly boastful manner.
Her gaze grew intense, eagerly fixed on the people in the front row.
Alessa, holding her tablet, looked up at Leah on stage, clearly surprised. "Oh, it's Leah! Second place, impressive."
Willard beamed with pride. "Thanks for the compliment, Mrs. Alessa. This morning, Leah told me how well she did, thanks to Daniel helping her study. With one kid in first place and the other in second, they're certainly making us proud." As they spoke, Jonah handed the name in his hand to the assistant.
