Chapter 202
Willow found it impossible to continue speaking.
What was the point of telling Xavier all these things?
Was she going to tell him how someone had taken her virginity years ago, and she became pregnant from the incident?
For the past five years, she had prioritized looking after her children. She had neither the time for a boyfriend nor the intention of finding one.
Weren't her four children enough for her?
All these years, she had poured her heart and soul into raising her children. She was too occupied to think about the past.
Willow no longer cared if Xavier betrayed her back then.
To her, Xavier was merely someone she had known in the past. They had nothing to do with each other
now.
Xavier saw her hesitate. He pressed on. "Why? Tell me..."
Willow took a deep breath. She did not want to continue talking. She looked away and said in a weak voice, "It's nothing. Stop wasting time on me. We broke up five years ago. Don't come looking for me again."
At the end of the day, a betrayal did not require any reason.
Besides, she was the mother of four children. Nothing could possibly happen between her and Xavier. Instead of giving him hope and letting him wait, Willow preferred making it clear once and for all so that he could move on.
Waiting for an impossible outcome was only a waste of his youth.
After finishing her sentence, Willow turned around and walked up the stairs without looking back.
Xavier did not run after her. He looked disappointedly at her from behind. She had decimated any hope he had once again.
Seeing how she did not even turn around made his heart ache. He clenched his jaws and called out to her. "Willow, I won't give up. You're my first love, and I'll love you for the rest of my life. I won't ever give up on you!"
By then, Willow had made a turn and entered the other side of the building. Xavier could no longer see her from downstairs.
She instantly let loose and leaned against the wall.
Her heart ached so much that she was trembling, and her tears fell unexpectedly.
The wonderful memories she had shared with Xavier in school began to replay in her mind.
She was his first love. Wasn't he also her first love?
If it wasn't for what happened five years ago, she and Xavier would have been married by now. They would have been living an ordinary and happy life together.
As wonderful as things were in the past, they were equally terrible in the present.
They could never go back to how things were before.
His apologies and explanations would not be able to solve anything.
From the moment Willow became pregnant, she and Xavier were destined to live their lives apart. They could never be together.
Xavier waited downstairs for a while. In the end, Willow never came back.
His head hung low, and he returned to his car before driving away.
They had a long life ahead. He would one day make Willow realize how much he loved her. She would decide to be with him again then.

At the neighborhood's playground.
Hailey and Lilith were playing on the slide.
Suddenly, Hailey grabbed Lara's hand and said, "Mommy's home. Let's go back."
"How did you know that Mommy's home?" Lara asked curiously.
"I-I saw her sitting in a black car. A very handsome man sent her home." Hailey's words were spoken
barely audible voice, but sheme"noveldrama
sounded serious.
However, Lara could hear her perfectly clear.
Hailey said that Willow was sitting in a black car, and a very handsome man sent her home.
Hailey had a high standard of
beauty. Unless that man was really handsome, similar to Tristan and Julian, she wouldn't call himo handsome.
