Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 665

Everett, who had just arrived, caught every word of the conversation. He strode

into the suite, surveying the chaos with a sharp eye. His gaze lingered on Blaine for a moment before locking onto Selena's face. His eyes were deep and impossible to read.

Trailing behind him was Alex, already feeling a massive headache coming on. Yasmine was always stirring up trouble, and it was really starting to get on his nerves!

Selena was caught off guard by how quickly Everett had shown up. She paused for a moment, but her eyes didn't waver as she met his. Today, nothing was going to stop her.

Yasmine felt a twinge of guilt as she spotted Everett. She knew she wasn't supposed to be there, but that feeling quickly faded. In tricky situations like this, she had to look out for herself.

"Mr. Everett, help me!" she cried, putting on her best damsel-in-distress act. "Selena's trying to kill me! I just happened to see her with some stranger, and now she's threatening me. You have to save me—"noveldrama

Selena let out a dry laugh, the humor not reaching her eyes.

Everett ignored Yasmine, keeping his focus squarely on Selena. His expression was calm, his voice even and unreadable. "What's going on?"

Selena wasn't about to let Yasmine spin her story. She didn't need to justify herself to Everett anymore. Whether she and Blaine were innocent or not wasn't his business.

With a chilly smile, she said, "Mr. Everett, maybe you should ask your little darling over there."

"That fire? It was all her doing. She set it all up."

"I'm just trying to get justice for what she did to my son!"

Everett's throat tightened, his eyes swirling with a mix of emotions.

Before he could respond, Yasmine jumped in, trying to defend herself. "Mr. Everett, I didn't do it! Mateo

means everything to you, and I'd never hurt him. I was injured trying to protect him, for crying outdoud."

Tears welled up in her eyes, her voice dripping with fake hurt. "Selena, I know you've never liked me, but to accuse me like this? I saved your son, and this is my thanks? It's just too much.

Her words painted Selena as a vindictive woman, willing to cast aside even her savior out of jealousy.

Selena remained calm, looking down at Yasmine as if she were nothing more than

a pitiful clown. "If you're innocent, the police will figure it out once you're in custody."

Once the case was open, the truth would come out.

Just then, footsteps echoed from the hall the police had arrived. But with

Everett, Newport's wealthiest man, standing there, they hesitated to move in too quickly.

Yasmine was petrified. She had no desire to go to jail or face any tough questioning. She knew she wouldn't hold up.

She also knew that if Everett stood by her, no one could touch her.

Tears streaming down her face, she begged, "Mr. Everett, please, don't let them take me. This is all Selena's

doing. She's trying to use your trust against you, to get rid of met

Ignoring the pain in her dislocated arm, she crawled over and knelt at his feet, pleading. "Mr. Everett, you know how I feel about you. I could never do anything to hurt you."
