Chapter 1179 Amazing Damien

Mandy looked at Damien, defeated, "Mr. Lenoir, I have to admit, you're impressive. You even managed to uncover that."

Damien offered a small smile. "Investigating you wasn't my intention. Actually, I'm

a major shareholder in the Tanner Group myself. Someone's been digging into my affairs lately, so I couldn't just stand by and do nothing."

Mandy's jaw dropped. "Hold on! When did you become a major shareholder? How come I had no clue?"

Damien yawned, his gaze drifting out the window. "It's been a while," he mumbled.

Despite his five-year search for any sign of Cherise, Damien had kept an eye on the Tanner family's business. Mandy had done a commendable job running the company, but some original shareholders proved too cunning.

To help out, Damien secretly purchased shares in the Tanner Group and intervened in several financial situations. However, he kept his involvement a secret.

Mandy was sharp as a tack. One look at Damien's face, and the pieces clicked.

She pouted, marched over to Cherise's room, and flung open the door. "Cherry! You hit the jackpot, girl!"noveldrama

Cherise, still snuggled in dreamland, dreaming of conquering the world in a power suit. She cracked open one eye to see Mandy's full face of warpainted makeup looming over her.

Gripping Cherise's cheeks like she was about to impart some ancient wisdom, Mandy declared, "Honey, you have NO IDEA how awesome your Mr. Lenoir is!"

Still drowsy, Cherise mumbled a confused reply, "W-what? When hasn't Damien been amazing?"

Mandy blinked, momentarily speechless.

Cherise's offhand remark had thrown her for a loop. She'd come bursting in, ready to spill the beans about Damien's secret acts of love and devotion. But who knew Cherise's nonchalant response shut her down?

Deflated, Mandy conceded with a sigh, "Okay, fair enough."

Even though she felt like she was about to be drowned in a wave of their sickeningly sweet love story, she continued, "So, since you already know how awesome your hubby is, I guess I can skip all the details about him secretly helping me run Tanner Group. Or the fact that he disappears to the beach every year on your birthday, all for you. And let's not forget those...unique gifts I used to send you? Yeah, those were all from him, too."

With each revelation, Cherise felt a jolt. Her mind raced back to her time in Lermille.

Mandy used to bombard her with the strangest things - hideous dolls, baffling books, random jars of who-knows-what, and snacks with questionable flavors.

Back then, she had assumed it was just Mandy's quirky taste. But it turned out they were all gifts from Damien!?

"Well," Mandy feigned frustration, rubbing her head. "Since you already know all these knick-knacks, I'd better not disrupt your beauty sleep."

With that, she smiled and stood up. "I better go catch up on my sleep. Taking care of that idiot Colin last night really wore me out."

"Wait! Suddenly, I'm not sleepy anymore. Please, continue!" Cherise instantly perked up, jumping out of bed and blocking Mandy's path.

Mandy's eyes glittered with mischief, though she kept a slight pout aimed at Cherise. "You already know all this, right? After you and Damien got back together, didn't he tell you everything he did for you those five years? Seems unbelievable, considering how close you two are."
