Chapter 3522 Arrival
Matthew gave a slight nod.
Now he understood why so many corpses lay near the guards.
When people first arrived on the sixth floor, they likely didn't know that returning to the upper levels required paying thousands of Dornia Emeralds. Driven by desperation, some had rushed the elevator, only to be gunned down by the guards without hesitation.
Matthew gazed at the pile of rotting corpses, then pulled a small iron bead from his pocket. With a flick of his fingers, the bead shot into the heap of decaying bodies.
As Matthew walked away, a sudden surge of heat burst from the pile. Flames erupted, engulfing the corpses in their entirety-no more, no less, just enough to consume them all.
The guard standing in front of the elevator watched the blazing fire and the rising scent of burnt flesh, surprise flickering in his eyes. It was the first time he had seen someone so kind-hearted on the Carnage Cruise. Such people were rare- either they wouldn't live long, or they stood at the pinnacle of power.
Which one is he? the guard silently wondered as he watched Matthew's retreating figure.
Matthew walked through the sixth floor, where blood and garbage littered the ground as far as the eye could see.
"Hey, you! Stop right there!"
A hoarse voice rang out, laced with cold malice.
Matthew slowly turned his head and saw a man covered in filth standing nearby. His face twisted with madness, and he clutched a short knife in his hand.
"If you don't want to die, hand over everything you've got!"
Although the man's eyes were wild with chaos, he could still recognize a newcomer when he saw one. And newcomers were prime targets for plunder.
Matthew looked at the deranged man and let out a soft sigh. "Actions have consequences. If you'd known it would come to this, would you have made the same choices?"
The man froze for a moment, then burst into a crazed laugh. "What, did you hit your head or something before coming down here?"
Matthew didn't reply. Instead, he flicked his fingers slightly.
"Ugh!"
The man's throat was sliced open without a sound, and blood spurted from the wound in a crimson spray.
Eyes wide with terror and confusion, the man clutched at his neck, but the blood continued to pour through his fingers. Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined that a simple attempt at robbery-treating Matthew as potential "emergency rations"-would lead to such a swift and brutal end.
His body collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
Matthew spared the man no further glance and continued walking forward.
The sixth floor stretched out as a vast, open space. The few scattered buildings were little more than piles of trash. The man who had just attacked Matthew had emerged from behind one such heap.
Until that moment, several others nearby had been watching Matthew with greedy eyes. But after seeing the would-be robber collapse so

changed. Any thoughts of preying on Matthew vanished as swiftly as they had come. They all understood-this was not someone they could afford to provoke.
Matthew's figure moved steadily forward.
Gradually, the grotesque sights of excrement, severed limbs, and blood began to fade from the ground. The air grew marginally less foul, signaling that the deeper areas of the sixth floor might be home to a different kind of people—ones whose circumstances were undoubtedly better than those who roamed the outskirts.
"Here, Sister... eat..."
A foolish-sounding voice drifted from nearby. Matthew glanced in its direction and saw a man crouching in the corner by a wall. His hair was matted and unkempt, and his clothes were filthy. He held a scrap of bloody meat in his hand, offering it to a trail of ants crawling along the ground, smiling at them as if they were family.
Suddenly, a large man approached and kicked the crouching figure squarely in the back.
"Don't be afraid, Sister..."
