"Boss, I've got the details," he reported with a shaky voice. "The guy who took out Redwood-his name's Matteo Larden. From what we've gathered, he just appeared out of nowhere. There's no trace of him on the island before this. We're guessing he's from another island."

Dominic shot up from his chair, his face contorted with rage, and delivered a brutal kick to the lackey's chest.

"Do you think I care about that nonsense, you idiot?" he snarled. "What I need is his strength and his skills! You're worthless! Your pay for this month is gone. Useless trash!"

His words were punctuated by a stinging slap across the lackey's face, its sharp crack echoing through the tense air. But he didn't notice the flicker of resentment that briefly crossed the lackey's eyes.
