Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew)

Chapter 3486 Visitors From Ore Island

The next morning, on Larden Island, Bram had barely risen when he noticed a servant rushing toward him from outside. "Mr. Roth... Ore Island-"

"Stop this nonsense! How many times have I told you not to act so flustered? Have I taught you nothing about decorum?" Bram scolded harshly, glaring at the servant. Only after catching his breath did he continue, "Now, what happened?"

"A group has arrived from Lopez Mining Group over on Ore Island. And... they brought a significant amount of goods with them."

"What did you just say? Lopez Mining Group? And Mr. Larden-has he returned?"

Moments earlier, Bram had been sipping tea with an air of calm. Now, he leaped to his feet, his booming voice echoing in the room.

Good heavens! It's only been a couple of days! Mr. Larden, do you have to be so efficient? I was hoping for a couple more days of peace!

The servant stammered, "No, Mr. Roth. The group said they're Lopez Mining Group's transport team. They've brought ten tons of iron ore this time."

"Where are they now?"

"At the Veiled Assembly's docks. They're unloading as we speak."

Bram, his stubby figure moving with surprising speed, stormed off toward the docks, leaving only a curt rebuke behind.

"Something this important, and you didn't think to report it sooner?"

The servant stood frozen, a look of grievance plastered across his face. You're the one who said to remain calm and composed when reporting anything. Now you're scolding me for being too slow. You're impossible!

It was likely the poor servant would never figure out what Bram truly wanted from him.

...

At the Veiled Assembly's docks, burly workers were busily unloading cargo from several large ships moored by the pier. Heavy wooden crates, each packed with iron ore, were being handled with astonishing ease as the workers carried them down the gangplanks. Mack didn't even bother with one crate at a time. Instead, he hoisted three onto his broad shoulders and marched down like it was a stroll through the market.

"Say what you will, but Matteo gets things done," he said with a wistful sigh. "He said there wasn't any iron left, and just a few days later, here we are with tons of it." Why can't I have that kind of skill? he pondered.

As Mack reminisced about his past, he smiled bitterly. Back in the day, all I did was eat, sleep, and hunt tigers. That was my whole life. I was either on the way to hunt tigers or actually fighting one.

He shook his head, muttering to himself, "If it weren't for that blasted tiger, I'd be a completely different man by now. Wasted so much time on it."

By the time Bram arrived at the docks, towering stacks of wooden crates had already accumulated, forming a sizable heap.

"Chief Hancock, who's in charge of this shipment?" he asked, stepping up to where Mack was cursing a tiger-or so it seemed.

"Tiger!"

"What?"

Bram froze, his face a mix of confusion and disbelief. Tiger?

"No, no!" Mack quickly realized his slip. He cleared his throat and gestured toward a group of men smoking by the pier. "The team who brought the shipment is over there."

"Got it. Keep up the good work, Chief Hancock," Bram replied with a nod before striding toward the group.

He couldn't help but wonder what exactly Matthew had been up to on Ore Island. How had he managed to convince Angus to not only finalize the deal but even dispatch people to deliver the goods?

Bram had originally thought it would be enough for Matthew just to close the negotiations. He hadn't imagined Angus would go the extra mile and send a transport team right away.

When he reached the group of men

by the shoreline, who were casually puffing on their cigarettes, Bram greeted them with a friendly smile "Good day, gentlemen. My name i Bram Roth, and I serve as the warden of Larden Island's Island Watch."

He raised his hands slightly in a calming gesture. "There's no need to worry. I'm simply here to ask about Mr. Larden. How has he been doing on your end?"

The men, who had tensed at his approach, visibly relaxed at his casual tone.

"Ah, so you're Mr. Roth! No need for formality-ask whatever you'd like!" the bearded leader of the group replied, his booming laughter carrying over the sound of the waves.

"I appreciate it," Bram said, nodding politely. "How has Mr. Larden been faring with your team?"

"No worries at all, Mr. Roth!" the man replied with a grin. "Mr. Larden is treated with nothing but the utmost respect. In fact," he added proudly, "our governor himself has welcomed him as an honored guest!" noveldrama
