Chapter 3476 The Viper Crew Again
Angus stared at Matthew with a cold, calculating gaze for a solid ten seconds. During that time, Matthew remained composed, his expression unchanging, as if completely unbothered by any intimidation Angus might be trying to project.
Finally, the icy demeanor on Angus' face melted into a smile. "As expected of someone sent by Tubby Roth. You're no ordinary man. The name's Angus Lopez. And you are?"
Matthew extended a hand for a brief shake, responding softly, "Matteo Larson."noveldrama
"Matteo, please, have a seat." Angus gestured toward a nearby tea table and invited Matthew to sit down.
Both men took their seats, and Angus poured tea for Matthew before speaking. "According to Tubby's letter, you're here to purchase a large quantity of iron ore."
"That's right," Matthew replied with a nod.
"Matteo, to be honest, it's not that I don't want to sell to you, but..." Angus' cultured face twisted into a troubled expression, his words trailing off.
"If you have any difficulties, Mr. Lopez, feel free to share. As far as money or convenience is concerned, I believe we've presented a very attractive offer," Matthew said plainly.
He had read Bram's letter, which outlined Larch Island's proposal. They were willing to pay 200 Dornia Emeralds per ton of iron ore-a price significantly above market value. Typically, iron ore sold for no more than 150 Dornia Emeralds per ton, and even then, only about 60% of the ore would yield usable steel. Offering a 33% premium should have made this deal hard to refuse.
Angus sighed, a bitter smile forming on his face. "Matteo, here's the issue. Just a few days ago, some guys from the Viper Crew barged into my store. They're forcing me to sell my iron ore to them at 50 Dornia Emeralds per ton. Although they haven't taken the stock yet, I expect them to show up any day now. Even though I have some influence on this island, it's nowhere near enough to stand up to the Viper Crew.
Matthew frowned in response. The Viper Crew again.
This was the third time Matthew had encountered the Viper Crew's name in just two days. First, Bram mentioned Shaun Mendoza. Then Matthew had dealt with their thugs on the road. Now, Angus was talking about their coercive attempts to take his iron ore. Their infamy seemed to be everywhere.
"No need to worry," Matthew said coolly. "Sell the ore to me, and I'll handle the rest."

Angus blinked, momentarily stunned by Matthew's confidence. Is this young man seriously thinking about going up against the Viper Crew? That's bold, even reckless.
"Matteo," Angus said cautiously, "the Viper Crew is a powerful organization. You'd do well to avoid crossing them."
"No need to concern yourself, Mr. Lopez," Matthew replied, his tone steady. "The Viper Crew isn't worth worrying about."
Seeing that Matthew wouldn't budge, Angus let out a resigned sigh. He doesn't understand how ruthless the Viper Crew can be.
"Alright," Angus finally said. "If you
can deal with the Viper Crew and resolve this issue, I'll sell you the ore. Not for 200 Dornia Emeralds per ton, though. I'll give you a deal-130 Dornia Emeralds per ton."
Matthew nodded, accepting the terms. If the Viper Crew wanted to play the tyrant, he had no qualms about eliminating them entirely.
As they continued their conversation, a loud bam suddenly interrupted them.
"Lopez! Have you got our stuff ready or not?"
What do you think?
