“Yuna, you…” Santiago hesitated, momentarily caught off guard.

He had just acknowledged his daughter, yet she stood against him here.

As manipulative as Teddy was, his words carried weight.

Santiago exhaled heavily, unsure how to respond.

Catching this moment of hesitation, Teddy shot Yuna a subtle look.

She instantly understood, slipping her arm around Santiago’s and tilting her head softly, affectionately. “Father, we’ve only just found each other again. Can’t we take a walk and forget about all these troubles for now?”

Santiago sighed again.

Yuna looked up at him, her voice soft and earnest. “I really want to hear about you and Mom. Tell me everything!”

For a man who had lived in solitude for so many years, reuniting with his daughter was tempting.

Yet, Santiago wasn’t a fool. He knew that if he walked away now, Mackenzie’s people might not leave the Tanner Residence alive.

To avoid unnecessary bloodshed, he decided that Ironskull and Ostrich needed to leave first. Only then would he go with Yuna.

Upon his exit from the chamber, Yuna gripped his arm while Ironskull and Ostrich remained still, sharing bewildered looks.

The room fell into a stunned silence, but still, a few representatives exchanged whispers.

“Santiago… actually left with Yuna?”

“I mean, can we blame him? Men love beautiful women, after all.”

“True. Yuna might not be the sharpest, but with looks like that, who wouldn’t be swayed?”

She jabbed a finger at them, her frustration boiling over. “Do you really think Santiago is some shallow fool who a pretty face can seduce?”

She scoffed. “Besides, don’t start acting like Yuna’s beauty is enough to sway a man like him. Is Mackenzie not stunning? Is Claudette not breathtaking? Am I not gorgeous?”

She tossed her hair. “If beauty was enough to change his mind, don’t you think one of us would’ve done it first?”

Her words hit harder than Mackenzie’s.

However, Ashton shot him a deadly glare.

This meant she had unintentionally implied that she wasn’t as attractive as Yuna.
