Chapter 673
Chapter 673 Explanation
Just as I was about to step out, Maddox appeared at the doorway, blocking my path.
"Luna, wait! Where are you going?" he asked, confusion etched across his face.
I clenched my jaw, unwilling to explain.
"Luna, I have Alpha's orders. He told me to stop you-he's coming home to talk to you," he said, his tone firm, obeying his Alpha like the loyal Beta he was.
I let out a bitter laugh. "Tell him to go to hell. I don't care what he has to say-I'm leaving, and that's final."
Maddox exhaled heavily, his expression torn. "Please, Luna,” he pleaded. "Don't leave without talking to him first."
I glared at him, my eyes burning with the pain I was barely holding in. "Do you even know what he did to me?" I spat, my voice trembling.
Maddox hesitated before answering. "Luna, I don't know what you saw or what you think happened," he admitted, sincerity clear in his voice. "But I do know one thing-Alpha loves you more than anything. He wouldn't do something like this to you."
I shook my head, scoffing bitterly. "You expect me to just give him a chance to explain?"
His eyes softened. "Yes. Please, Luna."
The desperation in his voice made me falter. With an exhausted sigh, I turned back into the room, throwing my bags onto the bed before collapsing onto it.
Tears spilled freely as I buried my face into the pillow, letting the ache in my heart
consume me.
"Mom!" Austin's sweet voice cut through the heaviness in my chest, soothing me like a balm on an open wound.
I quickly wiped my tears before he could see them, but his curious eyes blinked up at me in confusion as he ran to the bed and climbed up beside me.noveldrama
I pulled him into my arms, holding him close. "It's nothing, baby boy," I murmured, forcing a smile. "I was just watching a sad movie, and it made me emotional."
Austin sighed dramatically. "Oh, Mom!" he groaned, making me giggle at his adorable expression while my eyes were still wet. "Movies aren't real. You shouldn't cry over them."
"Alright, wise one," I chuckled, kissing his cheek.
Just then, the door opened again. My body tensed the moment Zander stepped inside.
"Dad! You're back!" Austin's face lit up with excitement. "How about we go to the laser light show by the lake? It's been so long since we had a family outing!" he complained, pouting slightly.
I ran my fingers lovingly through his soft hair.
Zander, however, remained serious. "We'll go another time, Austin," he said firmly. "Right now, I need to talk to your mom about something important."
Austin's face fell with disappointment, and he turned to me with hopeful eyes. My heart squeezed at his expression.
I cupped his face gently. "You go play with Aunt Blair for a bit, and I'll come join
you soon. Then we'll go to the lake, okay?" I promised.
His small shoulders relaxed, and he nodded. "Okay, Mom."
Sliding off my lap, he ran out the door toward Blair's room.
As soon as we were alone, Zander turned back and locked the door behind him.
But my resolve remained firm-I wasn't going to forgive him so easily.

"Selena, baby, trust me," I took a step closer, but she held up a hand, stopping
me.
"Don't come any closer," she snapped. "Just finish whatever you have to say quickly." Her glare burned with fury, and even Lyon looked at me with anger. How could I have made such a stupid mistake?
That afternoon, I had received a message from Anne, claiming she needed to discuss something urgent about her pack. I wanted to avoid meeting her, but she insisted it wouldn't take much time and that she genuinely needed my help. She demanded privacy, and when I went to see her at the hotel, I drank only one glass of whiskey-and suddenly,
I lost consciousness.
But I knew, deep in my soul, that nothing could have happened between Anne and me. Even in my unconscious state, I could never betray my mate.
"Baby, I had Maddox test the whiskey, and they found traces of silver in it. That's what made me black out. But believe me, I didn't sleep with Anne," I pleaded, my voice desperate.
Selena's jaw clenched. "You were unconscious. How do you know nothing happened between you and Anne?" she challenged, her voice sharp with accusation.
I exhaled, raking a hand through my hair. "I had to be hard on Anne, and she finally confessed," I admitted, hesitating before finishing. "She did
it because... because she loves me and wanted me to marry her
"Did she really confess?" Selena's eyes widened, but I could still see the disbelief
lingering in them.
"Yes, I have my own ways," I nodded.
Th
Anne had initially insisted that I had
to take responsibility for her after supposedly sleeping with her. But when I demanded a medical examination, she turned pale. Nervous and cornered, she finally spilled her true intentions-she had orchestrated everything to create a misunderstanding between Selena and me. It was only when I used my Alpha tone that she broke completely.
Selena stared at me for a long moment before finally speaking. "Why should I believe you?"
I sighed, meeting her gaze. "Do you want me to make Anne confess in front of you?" I offered with confidence. I had nothing to hide, and if that's what it took to prove my innocence, I was more than willing.
"No need," she shook her head.
I stepped closer, searching her face. "Then what do you want, mate?" I asked, tilting my head slightly.
She lifted her chin defiantly. "Tell me everything," she demanded. "Everything— including the truth about the Dark Alpha."
What do you think?
