Her Heart Her Terms (Lily and Xavier)

Chapter 33

The fact that Xavier remembered to do such a small thing meant he was deathly afraid Lily would become pregnant with his child.

"Thanks for remembering to buy me a morning-after pill despite your busy work schedule." Lily took out the pill from its packaging and swallowed it.

Then, she stood and threw away all the dishes before Xavier's eyes. She hadn't eaten but wasn't hungry because she was too furious.

Xavier merely headed upstairs after watching Lily consume the emergency contraceptive. He had just arrived at a corner of the staircase when he heard the clatter of plates coming from the kitchen. It left him with a foul temper and a slight scowl. Yet, he still had an international video conference later. So, he ignored Lily's tantrum, showered, and went into his study.noveldrama

Timothy phoned Xavier to report on the conference's contents. Finally, he talked about Sarah. "Ms. Lynde says you've allowed her to choose one of the houses you own to live in temporarily. However, she chose-"

"You don't need to report about what her choice is." Xavier was in a foul mood because of Lily. So, any mention of women would only frustrate and annoy him.

Timothy respectfully replied, "Understood, Mr. Fulton."

Xavier hung up and attended his video conference until 3:00 am.

Lily was restless that night. She dreamt of Xavier and Sarah eating dinner in the office. She even dreamt that Sarah would enter and leave the office in broad daylight as she pleased. Likewise, her dream included Xavier and Sarah having improper relations in the office. Xavier's private lounge was where he and Sarah often hung out discreetly after all.

Lily felt suffocated as she dreamt of intimate scenes between the two. She gradually woke from her dreams and realized that the suffocating feeling was because Xavier was fervently kissing her.

Xavier tore away the thin blanket between his and Lily's body. His firm chest met her soft -body.

"I'm tired!" Lily muttered after breaking free from his kiss. Her eyes cracked open slightly like she was unconsciously mumbling words while asleep.

Her soft, murmuring voice and plush body set off a fire in Xavier. It nearly drove him over the edge.

"That emergency contraception was expensive. It's still effective since you just took it. Let's

not waste its benefits." Xavier spoke with a low, gravelly voice.

Lily's heart softened at first. Yet, it soon hardened when she recalled Xavier had also been this

intimate with Sarah.

She mused. "No matter how expensive a pill is, it can't compare to the hundreds of thousands of dollars he gave to Sarah."

She couldn't defy Xavier. That said, she was also too weary after last night's events. She couldn't display the same level of passion as Xavier, so she lay limply. She allowed Xavier to do whatever he wanted.

Xavier's mind was too occupied to appreciate that Lily had acted differently last night.

Tonight, the bright moonlight shined through the window. It washed over Lily's palm-sized face. Lily's face had a rare effect on others.

Lily's smile would appear charming in every way. Meanwhile, her tears could make it seem like the entire world was to blame.

A cold look would creep across her brows whenever she showed a hint of stubborn defiance.

It made Xavier want to pity her, yet he felt more compelled to pick on her.

Xavier couldn't comprehend the psychological effect Lily had on him. He probably wanted to see Lily be submissive and plead for forgiveness since she had pissed him off these past few days. Similarly, he might have desired to see her do whatever he wanted unwillingly, or maybe he wanted her to only have eyes for him.

Although he didn't get his way, he wasn't upset. Instead, he found Lily's resistance interesting. He saw it as a way to spice things up in the bedroom.

Xavier felt Lily might have even acted this way on purpose. He wondered where she could have learned such a trick

On Saturday, Lily had to return to Fulton Manor with Xavier.

Xavier first went to the company in the morning while Lily drove out to buy cakes and cookies.

The Fulton family had never mistreated Lily. In addition, Lily's desire to get a divorce was only because of Xavier. So, Lily refused to appear disrespectful in front of the Fultons. Besides, she knew she was unlikely to visit again.

Lily phoned Timothy early that morning. Timothy informed her that he had discovered the deceased victim's case. It turned out that the victim had been diagnosed with a terminal illness two months prior.
