Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1486

At that moment, Allen's head throbbed intensely, feeling like it might split open at any second. He gave a small wave to Christina, not wanting to say much because of company protocols.

"Could you wait for me outside, Christina?" he asked.

Christina hesitated this was the first time Allen had asked her to step out. Instinctively, she glanced at Fiona. She couldn't help but notice how attractive the young woman was. Was Fiona trying to use her charm to get close to Allen? Christina found it hard to believe that someone so young could possess the medical expertise to treat ailments that had stumped many hospitals.

"But..."

"I trust her," Allen interrupted, his expression tinged with impatience, clearly not wanting to discuss it further.

With reluctance, Christina backed out of the room.

Fiona checked Allen's pulse and found he was not only lacking in vital energy and blood but also in mental vitality.

"So, what's been going on with you lately?" she asked.

Allen shook his head. Lately, he'd been plagued by nightmares-every time he fell asleep, they would ensnare him. He couldn't get any restful or peaceful sleep at all.

Fiona gestured toward a nearby reclining bed. "Lie down, take it easy, and try to sleep."

Allen furrowed his brow, feeling a bit embarrassed. It wasn't that he didn't want to sleep, but the nightmares left him feeling more exhausted, as if completely drained.

"I can't. I'm scared," he admitted.

"Trust me," Fiona said reassuringly.

Pressing his lips together, Allen reluctantly made his way to the reclining bed, his steps unsteady, his body frail, as if a gust of wind could topple him.

Lying there, he hesitated for a long time, unable to let his mind rest because the nightmares terrified him. If there were other options, Fiona wouldn't risk it. Forcing oneself into sleep can be beneficial, but not in Allen's current state.

Seeing his anxiety, Fiona took out an acupuncture needle and gently inserted it

into his head. Allen soon drifted into sleep.

As Allen slipped into slumber, Fiona connected a medical device to his brain, monitoring from a computer as he began to approach the edge of dreaming. While gently manipulating the needle, Fiona observed a subtle change in Allen's brainwaves.

She noticed a peaceful smile on Allen's face, suggesting the nightmares had ceased, and he was sleeping soundly. His brainwaves gradually returned to normal.

Fiona carefully withdrew the needle halfway, but then noticed a disturbance in the brainwaves again.

Realization dawned on her that Allen had been dealing with this condition for several months, not just one. A mix of suspicion and amusement danced in her eyes-whoever

orchestrated this had done

skill.

So with

The clinic director approached and quietly asked, "His brainwaves are so erratic. Has he been drugged over a long period?"noveldrama

Prolonged exposure to unusual substances, likely through his diet, explained the abnormal brain activity. It seemed the entertainment industry could be quite treacherous.

Fiona nodded, confirming, "Yes, someone's been targeting him."

Now that Allen could finally have a proper rest, Fiona didn't disturb him. She joined the director on a nearby sofa to discuss his condition.
