Chapter 1401
Nash looked at Louise, hesitating for a moment, "Are you really up for helping out?"
With the Woods family's financial clout, getting police assistance would be a walk in the park. Yet, Louise's offer came swiftly, without a hint of hesitation.
Louise nodded, her voice soft and sincere, "Nash, I understand that after what happened last time, trust is an issue. But I genuinely meant no harm to Ms. Fiona. Please trust me on this. I'll call my dad right now, and they'll dispatch the police pronto! Leave the police side of things to me!"
With that, Louise was already reaching for her phone, ready to make the call.
Nash had been watching her the whole time, seeing the earnestness in her eyes. She seemed genuine, and the iciness in his gaze gradually melted away, his expression softening quite a bit.
After all, they had grown up together. He didn't want to believe that Louise was behind what happened last time.
Watching Louise pretend to make the call, he silently stepped to the side and took out his phone, placing it against his ear.
Whoever had the guts to kidnap Fiona must have had a death wish. By this time next year, their graves would be overgrown with weeds!
Louise watched him walk away, a sly smile playing on her lips, her phone call never actually made.
What was the point in calling now? She'd already gotten the scoop from Rosa. Fiona had been kidnapped, and heaven only knows what those criminals might have done by now. With the tape in her hands, Fiona would be under her thumb forever. Let's see how she plans to keep up her swagger now!
...
At the police station.
"Move it, move it! We've got a kidnapping! A young girl named Fiona needs rescuing right now!"
A police officer slammed the phone down, grabbed his hat, and dashed out, shouting orders as he went.
"Hold up, what's the rush?" a taller officer stopped him. "The lady just called, told us to hold off on dispatching."
This lady was Louise, of course.
"Delay the dispatch?!" The officer's eyes widened in disbelief.
Is this some kind of joke? How can we delay when it's a matter of life and death?
"But-"
"Do you have the guts to defy the lady's orders?"
The officer was itching to jump into action, but with Louise's request hanging over them and no one else moving, his hands were tied.
Just as the officer was about to burst from frustration, the Deputy Chief rushed in, fuming at seeing them sitting still.
"What are you all doing just sitting around? Get moving and dispatch! This mission is to find Fiona, and let me tell you, she's a VIP. If anything happens to her, none of you will want to stick around here!"
The Deputy Chief barked his orders and hurried out, a wave of panic in his wake, silently hoping that Flora was safe. If not, the Woods family, especially Jackson, would have their heads. en
"Deputy Chief, this Fiona is the lady-"noveldrama
"What lady! Get moving!" The Deputy Chief roared, nearly turning into a whirlwind of fury!
Instantly, the officer zipped his lips, grabbed his hat, and rushed out. The lady's orders were one thing, but the Deputy Chief's urgency made it clear that this Fiona was someone extraordinary.
Fingers crossed that nothing terrible had happened!
...
Every resource was mobilized, all for finding Fiona. Everyone prayed this Flora would be okay.
Meanwhile, on the eastern edge of town, in front of a little bungalow.
What do you think?
