Chapter 713
Grace paused for a moment, but she wasn't surprised. She had already guessed that Casper would likely be dissatisfied with her background, especially since she knew he had arranged his own son's marriage.
Brian, who was bringing Casper's luggage inside, happened to overhear Casper's question.noveldrama
He spoke up first, saying, "She's my wife, and now she's part of the Francis family."
Casper was somewhat displeased. He hadn't said much, and his grandson was already protecting this woman like this. Casper thought that there was something wrong with Grace.
"Did I ask for your response?" Casper looked at Brian unhappily.
Grace straightened her back and looked at him calmly. "Casper, I'm not from a prominent family. I was separated from my parents when I was young, and my foster parents are farmers. I grew up in the countryside."
Her words made Casper's face turn very ugly.
"So, you're a farmer too?" he sneered.
"Yes," Grace replied.
Casper chuckled and looked at her. "Do you think you're worthy of my grandson?"
Brian's expression turned cold, but before he could say anything, Grace stopped him.
"If we're talking about social status, then no, I'm not worthy of him," Grace said calmly.
"I know you look down on my background, but you don't need to worry. Brian and I divorced five years ago. The reason we're living under the same roof now is for the sake of our child."
Casper narrowed his eyes.
"Casper, I hope you won't interfere in my affairs. Grace is the only woman I'll ever marry," Brian said firmly.
Casper's gaze swept over the two of them, deep and inscrutable.
He didn't inquire further about Grace's background and changed the subject. "I'm going upstairs to rest for a while."
Brian helped him up and walked into the room.
After coming out, he didn't see Grace anywhere. After searching around, he found her in her room.
"Don't take his words to heart," Brian said to Grace.
Grace smiled at him, "Of course, I'm not bothered by them. I expected all of this. Besides, we have divorced, right? We're just living together temporarily for the sake of our child."

There was a hint of resentment in her tone. She had prepared herself to reconcile with Brian, and she just didn't want to get married right away, but Casper's interference disrupted her plan.
"Grace, do you really think that?" he asked.
She turned away without saying anything.
"In my life, besides you, I don't want anyone else. Who I marry is my decision, and Casper has no right to interfere in my marriage," Brian said.
"I know, but he's so old. Just for the sake of Austin, can you not contradict him?" Grace pleaded.
Brian furrowed his brows. "Leave this to me. I'll handle it. Just stay by my side and don't leave."
His greatest fear was still losing her.
Casper slept until evening, and the whole family was waiting for him to come out for dinner.
Grace whispered to Austin, "Sweetie, your great-grandpa is back. When you see him later, remember to greet him."
Austin nodded obediently.
After a while, Casper walked out slowly.
His expression was serious, and his gaze immediately fell on Austin's face.
What do you think?
