Chapter 391
Mrs. York's casual mention of "home" struck a chord deep within Quintessa's heart, a concept that felt distant and foreign to her.
But ever since Mrs. York and Tyrone had become part of her life, there was this new warmth surrounding her, much like the bowl of hot porridge delivered to her doorstep early in the morning. It wasn't something you'd pick up from a street vendor; it was the kind of meal only a mother would make.
"We're both fine, just some scratches," Quintessa tried to reassure.
Mrs. York sighed as she glanced at Quintessa, “But those are still injuries. I saw the pictures online; it looked so dangerous."
Tyrone remained silent, quickly finishing the breakfast his mother brought. Frowning, he asked, "Mom, is there no bacon?"noveldrama
Mrs. York playfully slapped his arm, "Bacon? Early in the morning? Be grateful I brought you something to eat at all."
Quintessa took a sip of her porridge with lily bulbs and dates, not too sweet, but satisfyingly delicious. She smiled, "I like it."
Mrs. York patted her head, "Eat up."
Tyrone grimaced, taking a bland sip of his porridge. Man, his face hurt!
Suddenly, Mrs. York exclaimed, "Oh my, son, how did you get hurt?"
Tyrone, exasperated, "Mom, haven't you been looking at me since you came in?"
"Of course!" Mrs. York didn't even have to think about her response. She hadn't been paying him much attention. After all, she had been looking at her silly boy for over 20 years. What was there left to see?
Tyrone bit into a sandwich, "Mom...we can't keep doing this."
Mrs. York innocently asked, "Doing what?"
Quintessa nudged Mrs. York, pointing her attention towards Alexander.
Mrs. York gasped, "Oh dear, Alex's face is injured too. You guys didn't get into a fight, did you?"
Tyrone clenched his teeth, "No..."
Quintessa said while taking another sip of her porridge, "They both fell in the bathroom last night."
Mrs. York widened her eyes, "Fell in the bathroom...together? You think I was born yesterday?"
Tyrone turned red, while Alexander simply looked out the window.
Tyrone tried to explain, "It's true."
Mrs. York asked seriously, "So, you were helping each other with your pants and accidentally fell together?"
Quintessa couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Tyrone gritted his teeth, "Mom!"
After everything that had happened last night, he hadn't even solidified his feelings yet, and here his mom was, digging a hole for him.
Mrs. York shrugged, moving to sit next to Quintessa, "I'm just asking, why so angry? Got something to hide?"
Tyrone was at a loss for words, giving Quintessa a pleading look for help.
Quintessa turned away, ignoring him!
Compared to Mrs. York's early arrival, Mrs. Harrington and her daughter Serena didn't show up until 9 AM.
As soon as Serena entered, she greeted Mrs. York and quickly apologized to her brother, "Alex, you must be starving. I'm sorry, I, overslept, and then there was traffic. It's all my fault."
Alexander patted her head, "It's okay."
Mrs. Harrington walked in, completely ignoring Mrs. York, Tyrone and Quintessa, and went

happened to your face?"
Alexander turned away, avoiding her gaze, "It's nothing, just a fall in the bathroom last night."
Serena suddenly noticed, "Ty, your face is injured too?"
Tyrone rolled his eyes, not bothering to respond. He suddenly felt a sense of sympathy for Alexander; dealing with family could indeed be frustrating.
