Chapter 1405

Chapter 1405: 464. Game Causing Death

The Assassin Angel’s few words carried strong persuasive power, and Noland Lee spontaneously imagined the scene of a great battle amongst gods.

At the end of his speech, the Assassin Angel added a few more sentences:

“When I was sealed inside the brainstem, the part of my memory related to true history was the primary target of the illusions. Hysteric Brain attempted to use the illusionary essence inherent in the brainstem to alter my perception of true memory, transforming me into a puppet controlled by Extraterrestrial Eternity.

“To protect this memory, I did not share it with my avatars. Thus, only now can I restore the history that you and the Scroll Angel are missing.”

In contemplation, Noland Lee recalled the “Delan Paradise” he saw in the illusions.

He pondered for a few seconds and finally decided to lay out all his questions related to the “Paradise”:

...

“Your Excellency, just now you said that the illusions created by the brainstem were adapted from my memories. However, after I fell into Slumber, I saw a series of images that don’t seem to relate to my memories at all. It went like this…”

Noland Lee narrated the content he observed.

Initially, the Assassin Angel clearly intended to reply to Noland Lee with the standard “Don’t trust the illusions,” but upon hearing terms like “Delan Paradise,” “edge of the Universe,” and “survivors of the previous universal cycle,” His words halted, and an intense aura enveloped Him.

“Are you saying you saw the entire process of the survivors from the previous universe cycle fighting against the cosmic collapse?”

“Yes,” Noland Lee thought for a moment and said:

“Right, I feel like I experienced two layers of illusions. The first layer is what I am describing to you now. In the second layer of illusion, I found myself in a desolate space. The spatial laws there seemed different from the Cosmic Space we are in now; I could actually move in space with my physical body.

“While I was looking for a way out, I found a palm-sized flame, very similar to the rumored Fire of St. Dillan. Next to this flame, there was also a ‘0’. After I touched the ‘0’, that space seemed to reset, and I returned to the place where I began.”

Noland Lee looked at the contemplative Assassin Angel and said:

“What truly puzzles me is that just as I was about to leave the first layer of illusion for the second, I heard a voice. It told me that today’s Extraterrestrial Eternity members are simply ones who have forgotten their true origins and are eager to explore extraterrestrial space, while those we know as Plane Core members are ones who have given up on exploring extraterrestrial space. The voice asked me what I would choose—to join Extraterrestrial Eternity, to control the Sacred Fire, control the Plane Core or perhaps…”

Noland Lee was momentarily at a loss for words, unsure how to express the third option suggested by the voice.

The voice had said exactly:

Or perhaps to eliminate these remnants of Delan Paradise who should have died in the last universal cycle, and start your own new era?

This statement was concise and clear, essentially meaning to kill all of the Plane Core to clear the Universe.

But the problem was, Noland Lee wasn’t sure whether beings like the Assassin Angel and the Scroll Angel, angel-level entities, were members of Delan Paradise.

What is Delan Paradise members’ specialty? noveldrama

Spatial folding.

Do the Assassin Angel and the Scroll Angel possess abilities related to “spatial folding”?

Clearly, they do.

So, if Noland Lee proposed killing all members of Delan Paradise, wouldn’t that be akin to killing the Assassin Angel and others like Him?

Such a provocative statement, Noland Lee truly found it hard to voice.

Just as Noland Lee was about to change his words, the Assassin Angel said:

“The third suggestion the voice gave you, was it to kill all the remnants of Delan Paradise, eliminating these survivors from the previous universal cycle?”

Noland Lee was slightly stunned:

“Yes, that’s exactly what it said. Did you also hear this voice?”

Recalling that the Assassin Angel had also been affected by the brainstem’s illusions, Noland Lee began to have some guesswork.

Soon his guesses were confirmed.

“My experiences after being sealed by the brainstem are similar to yours. I also went through two layers of illusions,” said the Assassin Angel:

“The content of the first layer of illusion I experienced matched yours. I observed how the members of the paradise avoided the catastrophic end and heard that sort of narrative speech. However, my second layer of illusion was different from yours. I found myself surrounded by Extraterrestrial Eternity, constantly pursued by a multitude of demons, until you rescued me with a Ceremony.”

“I see…” Noland Lee mused:

“That seems like the first layer of illusion serves almost like a procedural outcome. Everyone drawn into illusions by the brainstem must see this content. Do you think there is any credibility in this content?”

The Assassin Angel slightly shook His head from side to side:

“Absolutely not.”

“Why would you say that?” Noland Lee was somewhat astonished by the Assassin Angel’s decisive and firm attitude.

The Assassin Angel explained:

“You did not live during the era of the Supreme Star Palace, so naturally, you wouldn’t know that this content is actually an interlude animation from a game developed by the deities.”

“Huh?” Noland Lee’s eyes widened in complete surprise:

“A game interlude animation?”

“Yes,” continued the Assassin Angel:

“As the Star Gods couldn’t trace the origin of the Sacred Fire, numerous speculations inevitably emerged in the Star Palace. Many deities, based on their understanding of the origins of the Sacred Fire, crafted mythological stories. Thus numerous deities’ games came about. The illusions related to ‘Delan Paradise’ that we see come from a game called ‘Delan Paradise’.”
