Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 196

Amelia recognized that look in Elsie's eyes. It was all too familiar. She used to curse at Janice the same way in her heart.

Elsie had no idea that Amelia had already seen right through her.

When Simon stepped away to take a call after ordering, Elsie sat down and looked at Amelia.

"Ms. Burnett, your health seems to be holding up. I'm surprised you can get up this early for breakfast. Then again, you're sick. You must be in so much pain that you can't sleep."

Amelia put down her knife and fork and noticed Simon watching from a distance. She tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear and kept her expression soft.

She lowered her voice and said, "Ms. Appleton, you're copying Janice so blatantly. You really think Simon hasn't noticed?"

Elsie stiffened.

Had Amelia figured it out?

She had been imitating Janice-her preference for white clothing and loose

waves. Whether Elsie realized it or not, she had adopted everything.

Amelia chuckled. "He got tired of Janice. What's the point of imitating her? What he really likes are women who bow to his every whim."

Was Amelia giving her advice? Since when was Amelia this considerate? Shouldn't she be angry or jealous?

Elsie said coolly, "I know what I'm doing. You should focus on taking care of yourself."

At the sound of approaching footsteps, Amelia deliberately raised her voice. "Of course. I still need to watch you and Simon be together. I've given up on treatment. I just want to enjoy the time I have left. As long as you two are happy, that's enough for me."

She suddenly felt a weight on her shoulder and turned to see Simon looking down at her with sympathy and pity in his eyes.

Amelia clenched her fists. She wanted nothing more than to wipe that insufferable expression off his face.

What right did he have to feel sorry for her? Soon enough, Simon wouldn't have the luxury of looking down on her anymore.

Unaware of her thoughts, Simon only felt that Amelia looked incredibly pitiful.

"Don't say that. I'll make sure you get the medication you need," he said.

Amelia lowered her eyes. "No need. It's too expensive. I can't afford it."

Simon insisted, "I can help you."

She smiled. "You should save that for your mother."

Elsie, watching the exchange, was fuming. She quickly interrupted, "The steak's here. Let's eat."

The three of them ate in silence.

After breakfast, Simon excused himself to the restroom while Amelia and Elsie waited by the elevator.

Amelia said, "If you want Simon, you must chase him harder. But honestly, I don't think you stand a chance."

Elsie retorted, "You!"

Just then, Simon returned. They entered the elevator, left the hotel together, and went to the crochet competition venue.

Elsie sat in the car and sulked.

She had no chance? She would see about that.

She was going to make Simon hers. He would be hers for good once she made it official with him. Neither Janice nor Amelia could hold onto

him, but she could.

Amelia caught the look on Elsie's face and let out a soft scoff. She knew exactly

what she was thinking.

...

The international crochet

competition venue was even

gathan Elsie had imagined,

and

a moment, she was

awestruck.

Amelia said, "Heidi should be here too. I won't go in. I'll find a place to wait for

you."

Sensing some history between the two, Simon didn't press the matter.

On the contrary, Elsie said eagerly, "I'll go in with you, Simon."

Compared to Amelia, Elsie's

eagerness only made Simon bullet

back. But since she had given kim money before, he couldn't publicly reject her.

Simon liked women who revolved around him, but that didn't mean he'd take just anyone.

After showing their IDs and passing through security, they entered the competition

hall.

...

Someone approached Amelia. "Ms. Burnett."

Amelia was surprised and asked, "And you are..."

"Mr. Moore is looking for you."noveldrama

Edward was here?
