Chapter 176
Janice smiled lightly. "You all know that I'm a seamstress. But besides that, I'm also a businesswoman, and a businesswoman doesn't make deals that bring losses. Technically, I'm a shareholder too, but without the right incentives, I have no obligation to save Refined Threads Co."noveldrama
Britney grew anxious. "Janice, we know what happened between you and Simon. We looked into it. He was the one who wronged you. But that was your personal business, and it wasn't our place to interfere. Like you said, we're all
businesspeople. Now that Refined Threads Co. has been run into the ground by him, we can't let him remain as chairman!"
"Exactly! As long as you're willing, we'll support you taking over!" Sabrina promised.
The three of them had already discussed it. Between Simon and Janice, Janice was the obvious choice. She was far more capable in business and far more trustworthy.
Simon was nothing but arrogant and irresponsible. Whenever things went wrong, he blamed others instead of fixing the problem. How far could a man like that go?
Not to mention, Janice was now closely tied to Prosper Stitch Group. Logically speaking, there was no way she'd let Refined Threads Co. collapse. And they refused to let their company become worthless.
Janice smiled. "I doubt Simon would agree to this."
"What does his opinion matter? Together, we hold enough shares to vote him out."
Janice nodded slowly.
Good. These three had brains, so she wouldn't have to waste time convincing them.
"Since you trust me, let's handle the transition today. I won't make any empty promises, but I can guarantee that you'll see millions in profit every quarter."
All she needed to do was step forward with her other name at the international championship, then everything would fall into place.
Sabrina, Tabitha, and Britney exchanged glances. "Deal!"
By the time Simon found out, he had already been removed from his position. His office had been cleared out under Janice's orders.
Watching his belongings being moved out, Simon exploded. "What the hell are you doing? That's my stuff! I'm the chairman of Refined Threads Co.! Are you all insane?"
The security guard hesitated before replying, "Apologies, Mr. Fitzgerald... but this office is now reserved for the new chairperson. Your office has been moved down one floor."
New chairperson?
Since when?
Those damn old women! Even if they planned this, shouldn't they have at least told him first?
Just then, the sharp click of heels echoed through the hall. Simon spun around instantly.
From a distance, Janice approached
while dressed in a sleek black business suit. Her long wavy hair cascaded over her shoulders, her makeup striking and sharp. Her expression held no warmth tenderness-only cold indifference.
Stopping in front of him, she met his gaze. "Mr. Fitzgerald, going forward, if you
have any concerns, you can come directly to me."
Janice was the new chairperson of Refined Threads Co.?
Simon's eyes widened in disbelief.
His hands trembled as he pointed at her. "You... You stole my company! This is
my Refined Threads Co.! I'm the legal representative!"
"This is a company funded by investors. So what if you're the legal
representative? That doesn't give you absolute control."
Janice scanned the office before meeting his gaze. "The shareholders and I have agreed to replace the legal representative in a few days. Of course, if you're not satisfied, you're welcome to withdraw your investment."
"You're insane, Janice! Do you even understand what being the legal representative means?" Simon shouted, completely losing his composure.
Janice stepped closer, her voice light but razor-sharp.
"Of course, I do. Being the legal representative means that you'll be the first to be held accountable if anything happens to Refined Threads Co. You're free to refuse But if you do, I can always create a little problem for Refined Threads Co. Then, you'll be the one facing a lawsuit. So, do yourself a favor and step down willingly. It'll be easier for you."
Then, with a gentle tap on his arm, she added, "Relax, Mr. Fitzgerald."
Blackmail and threats-a complete power play.
Janice dared to do this to him!
How could she be this shameless?
As she ordered her people to start rearranging his office, Simon snapped, "Janice, you're insatiable! You've taken everything from me. Aren't you afraid of karma?"
Janice took a sip of water, then turned slightly, glancing at him with amusement. "Oh? I'm just giving you a taste of your own medicine. But now that it's happening to you, suddenly, I'm the greedy one?"
She set her glass down and let out a
soft laugh. "You claim Refined Threads Cos yours? Did you invest the money? Did you do the work? The shareholders funded the company, the seamstresses created the designs, and I secured the orders and business deals. And you? You sat in this office and enjoyed calling yourself chairman. That's it."
Every single word sliced through Simon's pride like a knife, tearing apart everything he thought he was.
"The reason Refined Threads Co. has been falling apart is simple-you never knew how to run a company. But you convinced yourself you were some kind of genius, acting like you were destined for success. How pathetic is that?"
Simon couldn't take it anymore. "Shut the hell up! I'm not letting you control me! Fine, you're chairperson now, right? Then I'll withdraw my investment! Buy out my shares and pay me in cash!"
He was giving Janice a taste of her own medicine.
What do you think?
