Alpha's Second Chance

I wake up hearing yelling and screaming, and I get out of bed and jump into my pants. I hurry out of the room, and everything is chaotic. I see Enzo come out of

his room.

'Alpha Carter? What is happening.' I tap into my power as the true king and reach out to Carter's mindlink and connect.

'Your Highnesses, rouge attack. We are handling it.' He answers shortly, as he is busy.

'We coming.' I answer and quickly turn to Enzo

"Rouge attack,” I say, and we both rush out.

As we reach the main floor of the pack house, she-wolves arresting and some of the Elders. I can see the run towards a door leading under the house. There must be a sort of safe room down there. As we run outside and I turn to Enzo.

"You are careful. Use you, Lycan. It is your strongest part. The one who can handle the most. And keep your mindlink open." I tell him, and he bows his head.

"You be careful too, okay?" He says, and I nod my head.

As we shift and run into the battle, I give Lucian 100% control, and he knows what to do. I see and hear everything happening, and Lucian kills a lot of rouges. I hear a scream, and Lucian turns around. We see a young girl climbing up in a tree, trying to avoid a shifted rouge trying to reach her.

Lucian runs, and just as the girl is about to fall down from the tree, as the wolf keeps punching it. Lucian catches the girl at the last minute; the girl is a child, and she hugs onto Lucian. The wolf growls and attacks, but Lucian doesn't slow down even carrying the girl. He kicks the wolf, but it gets up again and attacks again.

This time, Lucian grabs the wolf by the neck, and before breaking its neck, he covers the girl's eyes.

"Where are your parents' pup?" Lucian asks the girl.

"My parents are dead, sir." She says.

"Why are you not in a safe room?" Lucian asks her.

"I was in the forest. I saw them and tried to get back. I almost made it." She tells Lucian.

With those words, I mindlink Carter, letting him know we found an orphan girl that had not made it to a safe room.

'It has to be Alina. She lost her parents last time. She has been living in the packhouse where I know she is safe.' He answers.

'Anywhere we can take her?' I ask. And there is silence for a short time.

'Get her to the packhouse. Go into my office, under my desk is a button. It will open to a small room. Hide her there, and it should keep her safe enough.' Carter says, and Lucian starts running towards the house.

We got inside, and I realized we did not know which room his office was. We shift as Lucian puts her on the floor, and I look at her.

"Alina, right?" I ask, and she nods her head.

"You are the king." She whispers, and I smile.

"I am. Do you know where Alpha Carter's office is?" I ask her, and she nods her head and leads the way.

We get inside, and I go over to the desk, find the button, and push it. A secret door opens, and I hurry to get Alina inside, but I can see she is scared.

"Don't worry. Alpha Carter told me to get you here, and you can be safe here." I promise her.

"Okay. I will be good." She promises, and I smile.

"I know you will. I have to go, but we will come and get you when it's over." I promise her as I close the door and hear the lock clicking.noveldrama

After I am sure the girls are safe, I run back out of the house, shifting again.

It takes another hour before we see the rouges pulling back and running off. I mindlink Enzo right away to check on him, and he tells me that he is fine, not a scratch. I am relieved and will check on Carter, who is safe as well.

He also told me they had caught a wolf that had seemed to be one of the commanding ones. And they hope to get some information out of him and find out why this attack happened. He tells me they have it under control so I can go and clean up.

I do as he says and meet Enzo on the way back. Just as I was about to go up the stairs, I remembered Alina, the little girl. I turn around and walk into the office with Enzo walking after me. I push the button, and the secret door opens.

"Alina?” I say as I see the small girl sleeping in a corner where she had tried to hide behind some boxes.

I lift the little girl, leave the office, and see one of the omegas from the day before.

I hand the girl to her and a warrior, and they promise to take care of her.
