Alpha's Second Chance

I look at her and I feel nothing, no remorse, no pain, and no sadness, just intense hate. I feel a hand on my shoulder, and I know it is Enzo. I look at him. Enzo was never afraid of me or afraid to look me in the eyes, and he is a good man. That is one of the many reasons why I wanted him as my Beta.

"My King." He says, and I look back into his eyes, feeling nothing.

"Beta, get them out of here, let her see a doctor if she needs it. I am not a monster like they were, I won't leave her to be in pain, all alone, and suffer like they did. But I want them gone." I say, and he bows his head.

"As you wish." He says as the doors open and four of the warriors come in.

"Lead them away, take her to the hospital, make sure she is okay to travel. And lead them out of this pack and town. It is your king's order.” He says and they bow.

She screams for me, yelling my name, saying she will never accept. But it doesn't matter, because I feel the bond broken, I don't know how, but it is gone.

I don't register many things but I do notice how Romeo taunts Enzo and ends up challenging him.

I observe the battle, not worried because I know Enzo will win, and he does. I nod my head and see Enzo turn around to go to Rose, where hell breaks loose.

"NO," I yell

"ENZO!" Dad yells. Enzo turns to protect himself, but before he can do anything, Romeo is lifted up in the air by a big, furry hand.noveldrama

Lucian has a hand around Romeo's neck, and I feel the anger coursing through

me.

"You dare go against rules that are thousands of years old. A sacred code. You don't deserve to be shown mercy, but out of respect for My dad, the moon- goddess Enzo, and my sister. And because I already caused harm today, even if it's justified. I will let you live, but if you ever break a rule or harm anyone who is innocent. I will have you thrown to a dungeon for the rest of your life." Lucian says calmly as he puts Romeo back on the ground, and he falls.

"Take him away." Dad orders, and I feel Lucian calm down again and let my human form back.

"Thank you, Brother. My king." Enzo says, and we lock hands, but a strange light falls on us.

Then, a strong feminine voice filled the room.

"The true king needs a special bond to those he trusts. And I think you just found your true Beta. There is only one problem we need to fix. To be the Beta to the strongest creature in our world. You need to be closer to his strength. Therefore, I will grant you a lycan." The moon-goddess

says as she walks through the room.

I watch the interaction between Enzo and the moon goddess, and then she turns

to me.

"And you. You already feel your

power, because your power is different. Yes, your father is a king and he will remain a king, just as your mother will be queen. You are not just a king; you are the king over all the kings, born into being their leader. The kings, king, so to say." The moon, goddess says, and I bow my head.

"Your job is demanding and sometimes dangerous. Therefore, you need people you can trust. Therefore, you will meet your second chance mate when the time is right. Your family seems to be lucky to have a second chance." She says and smiles.

"But, you need to know, that none of your future children will inherit the responsibility and the power you have been given. You have been given this power because the stars around the moon have seen that the world will need you." She says, and I go on one knee.

"Moon goodness, I know I am still essentially just a big kid, but I have grown up knowing I am special. That I someday would have a big responsibility to live up to. I intend do my best at doing what I must, with or without a mate. I will not disappoint you." I say bowing my head.

"I know you will, my child and I know you have all the help you possibly need, so I ask you. Do you approve of your Beta to be granted a lycan?" She asks me, and I look up and see her look at me. I smile.

"I can't think of any guy more deserving of getting a Lycan. And you are right. I need my Beta to be close to my strength, if not as strong. I trust Enzo with my life. He has never shown anything but loyalty to my family." I say proudly and the moon-goddess smiles.

"Very well." She says and turns to Enzo.

We watch as she again talks to him and watches her give him an extra soul, then talks some more, and Enzo thanks her.

I felt Lucian moving restlessly in my mind, and I tried finding out why, but he didn't even know himself why he felt the way he did. But then I hear the most beautiful voice ever.

"Madeleine, Beta." The voice says with the cutest accent I have ever heard, and I look at the girl.

I hear Enzo call the man next to her Alpha Louis, and I know he is the French alpha. I wish them welcome and Louis explains the girl is his daughter who is not yet eighteen.
