Chater 34
Chapter 34 Playing the Piano.
20 minutes later, Theo's car pulled up outside Jemima's house.
The detached villas, a harmonious blend of local and foreign architectural styles, exuded a quiet sophistication
siema stepped out of the car, her grip tightening on her purse as a wave of nervousness washed over her
Theo retrieved a gift box from the trunk and tumed to see her standing motionless, her posture rigid and her gaze restless.
"Want to back out?"
She bit her lip and shook her head: “No....... Let's go.”
As they walked into the yard, the sound of a piano filled the air. The music was ethereal, like a soft breeze brushing past her skin, like a gentle drizzle soaking into her soul.
For a moment, the entanglements of human relationships, the struggles for fame and fortune, and the weight of worldly troubles all seemed to dissolve, leaving only the piano's serene melody.
The flowers, trees, and everything living seemed to absorb the music's sorrowful undertones. But gradually, the tune shifted.
A ray of sunlight seemed to break through the darkness, reviving the world with warmth and life before settling into a peaceful conclusion
The piano music suddenly stopped. Sietta snapped back to reality as the woman who had been playing in the garden pavilion stood up. Sierra walked over slowly, then knelt before jemima, bowing her head deeply.
“Ms. Linden... I'm sorry. I lost my way. I didn't live up to your teachings. I failed to keep my promise, and I've let you down."
Sierra's mind drifted to the past. After her grandfather passed away, her family opposed her continuing piano lessons. They didn't lack money, but they saw no value in pursuing something so impractical,
It was Jemima who had personally visited her family, pleading with them to let sierra continue. Jemima even offered to teach her for free, asking only that she remain diligent in her studies..
Jemima wasn't just an ordinary teacher-she was a renowned pianist, a professor admired by many, and someone countless students dreamed of learning from. Yes, she had chosen Sierra
Back then, Sierra had knelt before Jemima and promised to work hard, vowing never to let her down. But she had broken that promise.
Now, her bead was lowered in shame, and she was overwhelmed with regret.
Theo watched from the side, his right, his dark eyes flickering with heartache. It only he had met her sooner...
If he had been in her life earlier, she wouldn't have given up on the piano she loveds
He blamed himself for showing up too late.
Jemima's heart ached with both sadness and tenderness as she looked at Sierra, who Imselt like a child caught in a mistake. However, her voice remained finn.
Sierra obeyed, rising to her feet and stepping into the pavilion.
Jernima stood up and motioned for her to sit in front of the plano. "Play the piece you played the first time we met.
Sierra froze for a moment. She then took a deep breath and placed her hands on the keys.
The first note rang out, clear and bright, like a mountain stream cascading through the silence. As she played, the turmoil in her heart began to fade, replaced by a calm that resonated with the music.
Her finger danced across the keys, precise and elegant, her body leaning forward slightly, hair swaying with her movements.
The stood outside the pavilion, his eyes fixed on her.
Her delicate hands moved with fluidity and grace, each note carrying a mix of emotion and discipline. As the tempo quickened, her movements grew urgent yet remained controlled. The way she poured herself into the music made it seem as though she and the piano were one.
Jemima's expression softened as she listened, lier stem gaze giving way to a quiet satisfactionnoveldrama
When the final note Laded into silence, Sierra lifted her hands slowly, bet head still lowered. She stood but didn't dare meet Jemima's eyes
