Chapter 131 Taking the Initiative to Kiss Him
Benson frowned as he felt the back of his shirt grow damp from Sophie's burning tears. Hearing her sobs, he couldn't help but feel his heart soften.
He gently pulled her hands away and turned to face her. "It's all in your head. Nothing has happened. Get some sleep, and you'll feel better tomorrow."
"Benson, are you still mad at me? That day at the hotel, I only slapped Sierra because I couldn't bear to see you upset over her. It was impulsive, and I was wrong to do that. I shouldn't have laid a hand on her!"
As Sophie spoke, she suddenly began slapping herself hard across the face.
His eyes widened, startled by her actions. He quickly grabbed her hands to stop her. "What are you doing? Your face just healed, and now you're hitting yourself again. Are you trying to ruin your face?"
He muttered angrily, but his concern was evident.
Sophie looked up at him with tear-filled eyes, her expression pitiful. "Benson, please don't be angry with me anymore. You haven't replied to my messages these past few days, and it's been torture for me. The pain in my heart is worse than the wounds on my face."
Her gaze was filled with helplessness and vulnerability, making it hard not to feel sympathy for her.
Benson stared at her, frowning.
He had indeed been upset with Sophie for hitting Sierra, but she had done it for his sake. She had even endured a severe consequence from Theo, being forced to grovel all night. On top of that, her face had nearly been ruined. He couldn't bring himself to blame her anymore-if anything, he felt a pang of guilt.
"Benson, please don't be mad at me anymore. I know I was wrong," Sophie pleaded, her eyes red as she looked up at him.
"I'm not angry," he murmured, lowering his gaze. Seeing her thin frame, he pursed
his lips before adding, "Put on a coat. Don't catch a cold."
When she heard Benson's concern, Sophie lit up with a smile. She reached out and closed the door behind him, then gently embraced him. Resting her head against him, she spoke softly. "Benson, hearing you care about me again makes me so happy. In this unfamiliar and lonely city, you're the only one who brings me warmth. Benson, I really do love you."
He reached out and pushed her away, his voice low and serious as he spoke. "Sophie, I've always thought of you as a sister."
Sophie trembled at his rejection, biting her soft lip as her teary eyes turned slightly red. "Benson, Sierra has already cut ties with you Do you still want to marry her?"
"Yes," he replied firmly, his tone resolute. "I will only marry her."
A shadow flickered in her eyes but disappeared just as quickly. Then, as if struck
by a heavy blow, she staggered, nearly collapsing.
Seeing this, Benson quickly reached out to steady her. She clung to him, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck, her lips brushing close to his face.
"Sophie, what are you doing?" He was startled and tried to pull her hands away.
However, she held on with surprising strength, refusing to let go.
"Benson, don't push me away. I like you—I really do. I know you don't love me, but as long as I can stay by your side-even if it's only as your bed partner-I'm willing." noveldrama
Suddenly, she stood on her tiptoes and kissed his lips.
Benson was so shocked by her actions that he didn't push her away.
